Bojana Momirovic was born in 1979 in Bosnia & Herzegovina. She spent her childhood in Sarajevo, New York and Brussels. When war broke out in the former Yugoslavia in 1992, she went with her parents to Germany. She studied French and English literature at the University of Heidelberg and continued her studies at the University of Seville, Spain, and at the University of Paris, France. She obtained a Doctorate (PhD) in literature at the University of Heidelberg in 2008. She speaks four languages (Serbo-Croatian, German, English, French). In 2008, she directed a documentary about the town of Dubrovnik in Croatia. “Under the Red Beacon” was selected for the online festival Culture Unplugged and for the Libertas Film Festival. “Descent” and “Postcards From the Past” are films about war. Her latest film “IUSTITIA” (Justice) is a psychological drama about two women prisoners. Currently she is working on several shortfilm projects as well as her first feature "L'anniversaire".
