Bojana Momirovic

Director and producer of a number of short films and documentaries. Of Bosnian origin and having lived in New York, Germany, Belgium and Spain she found her home in Paris where she now works and lives.

Bojana Momirovic was born in 1979 in Bosnia & Herzegovina. She spent her childhood in Sarajevo, New York and Brussels. When war broke out in the former Yugoslavia in 1992, she went with her parents to Germany. She studied French and English literature at the University of Heidelberg and continued her studies at the University of Seville, Spain, and at the University of Paris, France. She obtained a Doctorate (PhD) in literature at the University of Heidelberg in 2008. She speaks four languages (Serbo-Croatian, German, English, French).

In 2004, she moved to Paris and began her film career at the atelier Ciné-écriture with Antoine Lebos, Vassili Silovic, Marie Brandt and Jean-Denis Bonan. Her first work was a poetic documentary on multicultural France: “The Orchid and Confidence”.

In 2007, she directed “The Ney in the Box”, a documentary about exile, presented at the film festival Crominute in Pozega, Croatia. Concurrently, she directed a short film about racism, “Interview with a Young Widow” which was selected at several festivals in France and screened on the channel IF TV in 2011.

In 2008, she directed a documentary about the town of Dubrovnik in Croatia. “Under the Red Beacon” was selected for the online festival Culture Unplugged and for the Libertas Film Festival. “Descent” and “Postcards From the Past” are films about war. Her latest film “IUSTITIA” (Justice) is a psychological drama about two women prisoners. Currently she is working on several shortfilm projects as well as her first feature "L'anniversaire". 

Since 2010 Bojana has worked with TOMAY Productions as a producer. Before that she worked for eight years in finance, administration and online negociation for the company SynerTrade in Paris. Bojana has been an active member of the film association Collectif Prod since 2008 and has organised and conducted over 15 conferences about film. In 2010 and 2011, she worked with the American producer Cat Knell on the online show Producer to Producer (P2P) introducing world-renowned producers : Georges Bermann & Tony Scott and Cuotemac Malle & Charles Roven.
